Collegiate sports update: UNC Asheville soccer draws with Furman; Chaisilprungruang wins golf title

In collegiate sports action, the UNC Asheville men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against No. 3 Furman. Tyler Ware scored the opening goal for the Bulldogs via a penalty kick following a VAR review. Furman equalized in the 79th minute with a free kick from Diego Hernandez. Asheville goalkeeper Lucca Barros recorded eight saves during the match.

In women's golf, Pinky Chaisilprungruang secured the individual title at the Truist Access, Opportunity & Development Summit held at Quail Hollow Club. Chaisilprungruang was the only player to finish under par, shooting 143 (-1). The College of Charleston won the team title, while the Charlotte women's golf team finished in second place.
