Collegiate sports updates: Tufts field hockey wins in overtime, Wellesley soccer falls to Hartford
Various collegiate athletic updates highlight recent performances and upcoming schedules across several programs.
In field hockey, Tufts University secured a 2-1 NESCAC victory over Wesleyan University. Sophomore Eleanor Helm scored both goals for the third-ranked Jumbos, including a decisive shot in the second overtime to maintain a 6-0 start for the season.
In soccer, the University of Hartford defeated Wellesley College with a score of 5-3. Despite a two-goal performance by Wellesley’s Maya Fraser, Taylor Freimuth recorded a hat trick for the Hawks to secure the win.
Wellesley College tennis achieved a 7-0 sweep against Salve Regina University, improving their record to 2-0. Meanwhile, the Wellesley women’s basketball team announced its 2026-27 schedule, which includes 23 contests and a season opener against Rivier University on November 6.
