Collegiate swimming teams debut and record wins

Marquette University's women's swimming team debuted as the university's 17th varsity program during a season-opening meet at Iowa. Although Iowa won the dual competition 189-70, the Golden Eagles recorded several program milestones. The 200-yard medley relay team, consisting of Mackenzie Choinski, Enya Linson, Nina Newton, and Allie Seiler, scored the first points in the program's history. Additionally, Bridget Corro secured the team's first individual points with a second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle.

Marshall University's swimming and diving team opened their season with a 181-65 victory over Fairmont State. The meet featured two new pool records: the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:57.60 and the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:39.24. Individual winners for the Herd included Lauren Ramsey, Sadie Rogers, Maddy Akin, Lauren Bell, Parker Lynch, Ieva Mumgaudyte, Allison Dodd, and Halla Amr Salem.
