Collegiate volleyball: Houston wins third straight while UConn drops road matches

In recent collegiate volleyball action, the University of Houston secured its third consecutive Big 12 Conference win by defeating West Virginia in four sets. Led by Sydney Jones with 24 kills and Noemi Despaigne with 15 kills, the Cougars overcame an initial set loss to win 25-21, 25-17, 25-20, and 25-23. This victory marks Houston's best start in conference play since joining the Big 12 in 2023.

Meanwhile, the University of Connecticut women’s volleyball team suffered two losses during their first road trip in nearly a month. The Huskies dropped matches against Georgetown and Villanova. In their match against Georgetown, the Hoyas won in straight sets, including a 25-10 opening set and a 25-19 second set, despite late efforts from UConn players like Maja Daca and Helena Einarsdottir.
