Iowa Hawkeyes defeat Northern Iowa 55-0 in dominant shutout
The No. 18 Iowa Hawkeyes football team secured a dominant 55-0 shutout victory over the University of Northern Iowa at Kinnick Stadium. Despite the absence of starting running back Kamari Moulton, Iowa’s offense recorded 422 rushing yards.
Three different Hawkeye running backs surpassed 100 rushing yards: Xavier Williams with 151 yards and three touchdowns, Braeden Jackson with 125 yards and one touchdown, and Nathan McNeil with 111 yards and two touchdowns. This marked the first time since 1983 that three Iowa rushers exceeded the 100-yard mark in a single game.
Quarterback Hank Brown completed all 12 of his pass attempts for 153 yards and two touchdowns, solidifying his role as the team's primary passer. The victory marks the 20th shutout under head coach Kirk Ferentz. Iowa moves to a 3-0 record as they prepare to face Michigan in Big Ten conference play.
