Collegiate athletics: UT Martin and Northwestern secure key victories

Various collegiate athletic teams achieved notable results in recent weekend competitions.

In football, the University of Tennessee at Martin secured a 17-6 victory over Gardner-Webb, driven by a strong defense that held opponents to 168 total yards and three interceptions.

In volleyball, the University of Northwestern maintained an undefeated UMAC record with a sweep of Martin Luther College, highlighted by setter Addeson Jenniges reaching 2,000 career assists. The team also secured a sweep against Bethany Lutheran. Meanwhile, UT Martin defeated Western Illinois 3-1 in a road series opener.
