In football, Trinity University secured a 23-6 victory over defending champion Berry College in their Southern Athletic Association opener. Meanwhile, Norfolk State narrowly lost to Robert Morris 33-31 after a late field goal attempt hit the crossbar, and Methodist fell to Huntingdon 31-6.

In soccer, Brevard College defeated Meredith 1-0 behind a goal from Mikayla Rubin and a shutout by goalkeeper Abby Nunez.
