Collegiate volleyball updates: Penn Hall of Fame and Ithaca ranking

Dani Shepherd Posey has been inducted into the University of Pennsylvania Athletics Hall of Fame. A standout defensive player, Posey was a two-time Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time First Team All-Ivy selection. Her career achievements include holding the program record for single-season digs (617) and ranking among the all-time leaders in career digs and service aces. She helped lead the Penn volleyball program to an Ivy League Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Meanwhile, the Ithaca College women’s volleyball team enters the new season ranked 18th in the AVCA Division III Preseason Poll. Following four consecutive Liberty League championships and a 27-5 record in the 2025 season, the team aims for a deeper run in the NCAA tournament. Head Coach Tara Stilwell, who seeks to return the program to the Elite Eight, noted that the team is motivated by a previous early exit from the national tournament.
