Collegiate women's cross country teams secure early season victories

Several collegiate women's cross country teams opened their 2026 seasons with notable performances in recent invitational meets.

At the Port Kenyon Opener, the Kenyon College women's cross country team secured a first-place finish with 25 points. Mathilde LeBlanc led the Owls with a first-place individual finish in the 4k, clocking a time of 14:09. Other top finishers for Kenyon included Lucie Prior in third and Olivia Ide in fourth. The team finished ahead of Ohio Wesleyan University, which scored 30 points.

At the Ken O'Brien Invitational held at UMass Amherst, the Holy Cross women's team finished second overall with 43 points. Aluna Coogan-Coyne placed third individually with a 4k time of 14:13.9, while teammate Siena Brunetti finished seventh. UMass Amherst won the team competition with 18 points.
