Collegiate women's soccer season openers see South Dakota and Iowa victories
In collegiate women's soccer season openers, the University of South Dakota defeated the University of Northern Iowa 4-0. South Dakota controlled the match with 21 total shots compared to UNI's five. Brooke Conway opened the scoring in the 26th minute, followed by additional goals from teammates in the first half, second half, and a final goal in the last second of regulation.
Separately, the University of Iowa secured a 7-0 victory against Milwaukee. This performance set a program record for the most goals scored in a season opener and marked the Hawkeyes' highest scoring output in a single game since 2017. Five different players scored for Iowa, including Reilly Heman, Berit Parten, Berkley Binggeli, and Elle Wildman.
