Collelongo honors Paola Cesta for UNIFIL peacekeeping service

The municipality of Collelongo held a ceremony to honor Paola Cesta, the first female representative from the community to serve in a peacekeeping mission. Cesta, 34, spent over six months in Lebanon as part of the Italian UNIFIL contingent.

Mayor Rosanna Salucci, along with the Piazza Cavour association and the Amici del Lavandeto di Collelongo Aq, presented Cesta with a recognition plaque. The event, attended by local officials, family, and members of the Collelongo Alpini section, also included the presentation of a photograph depicting Cesta in Lebanon with local children. Mayor Salucci described Cesta as an example to the community, noting the pride felt regarding her service in a complex territory.
