Collin Gosselin addresses estranged mother ahead of memoir release

Collin Gosselin, 22, has addressed his estranged mother, Kate Gosselin, ahead of his appearance on season 5 of FOX’s ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.’ Speaking at a red carpet event in Los Angeles, he offered a brief message to his mother, saying, ‘Hey, Mom! Hope you enjoy.’

Gosselin clarified that his participation in the military-style competition is not an attempt to compete with his mother, who appeared in season 1 of the series. He stated that his journey is about personal growth and is not centered on her, noting that his mother took much from his childhood.

In addition to his television appearance, Gosselin is preparing to release a memoir titled ‘In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood’ on October 13. He described the writing process as therapeutic and restorative. The book is expected to examine the dark side of fame and his experiences being thrust into the reality TV industry as a child.
