Chile implements student technology grants and emergency relief

Various regions in Chile are managing social and educational initiatives alongside emergency responses. In several provinces, including Chiloé, Maule Costa, and Collipulli, seventh-grade students are receiving computers through the Junaeb 'Beca TIC' program. This initiative, which includes one year of free internet access, aims to reduce the digital divide and support academic development for students in public schools.

In Coquimbo, municipal authorities have requested an extension of the deadline for the Basic Emergency Sheet (FIBE) to ensure approximately 1,500 households can be properly assessed for damages following recent emergencies. Meanwhile, in Antofagasta, the municipality has activated a sixth shelter and increased drainage efforts to assist families affected by heavy rains, providing hygiene materials and recreational kits for children in temporary housing.

In the Valparaíso Region, a local entrepreneur donated approximately 100 3D-printed toys to children living in protection residences to foster creativity and support emotional well-being.
