Collision of two tourist vessels in Lan Ha Bay, Vietnam kills one passenger
On the morning of June 14, two tourist boats – HP 5665 carrying 31 passengers and HP 3847 with 10 passengers – collided in Lan Ha Bay, Haiphong, Vietnam. The impact caused the smaller vessel to sink.
Rescue teams quickly recovered all passengers from the water. One female tourist, Nguyen Thi N. (born 1983), suffered breathing difficulties, was taken to Cát Hải medical centre and later died. The other passengers were treated and released, and authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
