Colloredo di Monte Albano prepares for castle reopening

The community of Colloredo di Monte Albano is preparing for the official reopening of the Ala Nievo section of its castle, scheduled for September 19 and 20. The event marks the completion of a reconstruction process that has spanned fifty years, serving as a symbol of the region's recovery following the 1976 earthquake.

Local officials hope for the attendance of high-ranking state figures, including President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, to commemorate the milestone. Regional Infrastructure and Territory Councilor Cristina Amirante described the project as one of the largest and most complex recovery operations in post-earthquake Friuli, noting that the site will transition from a largely private manor to a space primarily dedicated to public use, including museums and exhibitions.
