Colman Domingo details intense prosthetic work and research for Joe Jackson role
Oscar‑nominated actor Colman Domingo explained that portraying Joe Jackson in the biographical film ‘Michael’ required two‑and‑a‑half hours of prosthetic makeup for each shoot and about 40 hours of weekly research. He described the preparation as “soul work,” emphasizing the need to find the person’s essence rather than merely mimicry. Domingo discussed these points during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
He also revealed plans to write, produce and star in a new biopic titled ‘Unforgettable’ about singer Nat King Cole, with filming slated for later this year. In addition, Domingo noted his recent Emmy nominations for guest work on ‘Euphoria’ and supporting work on Tina Fey’s ‘The Four Seasons.’
