Colmar man charged with attempted murder after stabbing

A 24-year-old man has been placed under investigation for attempted murder following a stabbing in the industrial zone of Colmar. The incident occurred during the night of August 8 to August 9 on Rue Émile-Schwoerer.

The suspect reportedly identified an individual with whom he had a dispute and struck them in the thorax with a knife. Two friends of the victim also sustained minor injuries while attempting to intervene. The primary victim was hospitalized but is not in life-threatening condition.

The suspect, who has prior contact with police and gendarmerie, was arrested on August 11 and has been placed in pre-trial detention. In addition to attempted murder, he faces charges of violence with a weapon, illegal possession of a weapon, and refusing to provide his mobile phone passcode.
