Colón Fair 2026 hosts cultural and culinary competitions

The Feria de Colón 2026 featured several cultural and gastronomic events aimed at celebrating local traditions and supporting the regional economy.

The “La Voz Colón 2026” singing competition showcased young musical talent. The event was inaugurated by Rubén Camacho Jiménez, the Secretary of Innovation, Culture, and Education. Among the nine participants, Yara Yamilet Bañuelos Jaime took first place, followed by Elsa Sánchez Bermúdez in second and Sandra Guadalupe in third. The judging panel included music professionals from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro and local orchestras.

Additionally, the fair hosted a pulque competition organized by the Secretariat of Sustainable Development. The contest brought together local producers and artisans to highlight the ancestral knowledge of agave cultivation and fermentation. Six exhibitors participated, presenting various blends of pulque with seasonal flowers and desert fruits. The event aimed to strengthen the community economy and preserve the culinary heritage of the Querétaro semi-desert region.
