Colo Colo goalkeeper Vozinha faces uncertain future amid contract clause

The future of Cape Verdean goalkeeper Vozinha at Colo Colo remains uncertain as his current contract approaches its end in December. A key factor in his potential departure is a contractual clause that triggers an automatic renewal if the 40-year-old player participates in at least 50% of the official minutes. Currently, Vozinha has only played in approximately 25% of available matches, appearing as a starter in only three out of twelve possible games.

Club president Aníbal Mosa has maintained strict confidentiality regarding the matter, stating that no declarations will be made until the championship concludes. Technical reports suggest that Vozinha is not a priority for coach Fernando Ortiz, who has other options such as Gabriel Maureira and Eduardo Villanueva.

Additionally, the commercial impact of his signing has reportedly declined. While his arrival initially generated high expectations, Adidas noted that jersey sales did not meet initial projections, and TNT Sports indicated that his ability to drive subscriber growth has normalized following an initial surge.
