Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha signs with Chile's Colo Colo

Cape Verde’s veteran goalkeeper Josimar José Évora Dias, known as Vozinha, agreed to join Chilean giants Colo Colo after his breakout performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 40‑year‑old was voted into FIFA’s fan‑selected Dream Team after helping Cape Verde hold eventual champions Spain to a goalless draw and pushing eventual runners‑up Argentina into extra time.

Colo Colo president Aníbal Mosa confirmed that a verbal agreement is in place. Vozinha, who left Portuguese second‑division side Chaves as a free agent, will travel to Santiago in the coming days for medical examinations before being presented at the Estadio Monumental. The club, currently top of the Chilean league, expects the 18‑month deal to strengthen its squad and boost commercial appeal, noting the goalkeeper’s near‑30 million Instagram followers.

The transfer is pending formal signing, but the announcement has generated excitement among Colo Colo supporters and Chilean football fans.
