Colo Colo proposes 70% salary reduction for Arturo Vidal
The management of Blanco y Negro, the company overseeing the Chilean football club Colo Colo, has reportedly made a formal proposal to Arturo Vidal regarding his contract renewal. According to reports, the offer includes a drastic reduction in his current earnings, suggesting a salary cut of approximately 70%.
Vidal currently earns a monthly salary of nearly 114 million pesos. The proposed adjustment would involve a decrease of roughly 80 million pesos per month. This move is seen as an austerity measure by the leadership, headed by Aníbal Mosa, as they prepare the squad for 2027.
While Vidal has stated his primary focus remains on winning the club's 35th title, the contract negotiations have created tension. Although the relationship between the player and the club's leadership is not officially broken, reports suggest the dynamic has changed. Vidal has expressed that he prefers to focus on sporting achievements, noting that a renewal should follow good performance.
