Cologne Carnival 2027: New bands and youth royalty announced

The upcoming 2027 Cologne Carnival season is preparing to introduce several rising musical talents and a new youth triumvirate.

In the music scene, several newcomer bands are positioned for significant growth. The trio Favorit, winners of the 2026 Kölsche Musik Bänd Kontest, received a scholarship from Bläck Fööss. Bel Air, winners of the 2026 Närrischer Oscar in the newcomer category, has seen their performance schedule double. Other notable emerging acts include Engk vum Daach, known for local storytelling, and the Eifel-based band Firlefanz.

Additionally, the designated 2027 Cologne Children's Triumvirate (Kinderdreigestirn) has been introduced. The group consists of Prince Laurenz I., Bauer Felix, and Jungfrau Anna. The trio is scheduled for approximately 120 appearances throughout the session. Their debut press event took place at the Rheinenergie water school in Cologne-Westhofen, aligning with the session motto regarding resource awareness and climate change.
