German authorities in Cologne are investigating a case of alleged sexual harassment involving a humanoid robot. The incident occurred near a fast-food restaurant on the night of October 10-11, 2026, when a 1.2-meter-tall red and gold robot reportedly approached a 16-year-old girl from behind, touched her buttocks, and performed thrusting motions.

Police are investigating two suspects, a 16-year-old robot owner and a 19-year-old accomplice. The suspects allegedly filmed the incident and livestreamed it on social media platforms with commentary. Following the report, officers located the suspects nearby and discovered the robot hidden in the trunk of a Volkswagen.

Investigators have seized the robot and two mobile phones to determine if the device was pre-programmed or manually controlled in real-time during the assault. The suspects face investigation for violation of sexual dignity, an offense that can carry a prison sentence of up to two years.
