Cologne reverses Piusstraße one-way direction to ease traffic
Starting in early October, the direction of the one-way street on Piusstraße in the Ehrenfeld district of Cologne will be reversed. This decision follows a resolution by the Ehrenfeld district council aimed at easing traffic congestion caused by increased through-traffic on side streets following previous changes to Venloer Straße.
As part of the transition, the traffic light system at the intersection of Piusstraße and Venloer Straße will be adjusted, including the installation of a new traffic light mast and the relocation of another. Road markings will also be updated. Large signs have been placed to redirect traffic in advance, and these will remain in place for three months to allow motorists to adjust to the new configuration.
