Cologne spends 334,000 euros to secure public toilet

The city of Cologne has spent approximately 334,000 euros to provide security for a public toilet facility located in the Krebsgasse area of the city center. This expenditure covers the period from May 2022 to May 2025.

Security personnel have been stationed in a small guardhouse adjacent to the facility to prevent misuse, such as drug consumption or the site being used as a place for sleeping. The toilet facility originally opened in 2015 but was taken out of service that same year; it reopened in May 2022 with the continuous presence of security staff.
