Cologne woman brings heirloom brooch to ‘Bares für Rares’

A 61-year-old administrative employee from Cologne, Doris Krug, appeared on the ZDF program ‘Bares für Rares’ to appraise an opulent brooch inherited from her mother 17 years ago. The piece, which had been kept in a safe, is described as a still life of gemstones set in pure gold.

Expert Heide Rezepa-Zabel, a gemologist and art historian, evaluated the item, which features ‘The Big Four’ gemstones. The appraisal process was noted for its emotional weight, as the owner expressed significant sentiment regarding the heirloom.
