Colombia achieves athletic success at South American Games
Colombian athletes achieved significant success at the South American Games in Santa Fe, Argentina. In track and field, the women's 4x100 relay team, consisting of María Maturana, Marleth Ospino, Angelica María Gamboa, and Danna Meibys, secured gold with a Games record of 44.36 seconds. The men's 4x100 relay team, featuring Carlos Palacios, Jhon Edwar Paredes, and Carlos Flórez, also won gold with a time of 39.09 seconds. Additionally, Mayra A. Gaviria Maldonado won the hammer throw with a mark of 66.35 meters.
In archery, Colombian athletes Santiago Cruz and Tania Arias, representing the Meta department, are set to compete in the South American Games in Rosario, Argentina. Cruz will compete in the men's recurve category, while Arias will participate in the women's recurve category. The competition is scheduled to begin on September 22.
