Colombia advances road projects in Caldas and Pasto

In the northern part of Caldas Department, work on the Salamina‑La Merced corridor has reached 20.06% physical execution, surpassing the planned schedule. The 4‑km pavement, funded by the General Royalties System with an allocation of about 20.7 billion pesos, is currently in earth‑work and drainage installation, aiming to improve connectivity across the department.

In the city of Pasto, officials from the municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure and the council have begun a technical reconnaissance of the Pan‑American Highway segment between Chapultepec and Chapal. The inspection follows damage caused by the 2025 closure of the Daza tunnel. Approximately 500 million pesos, approved by the national road agency INVÍAS, will be used for resurfacing, with a licitation expected and works projected to start within roughly 60 days.
