Colombia and Black Sea see separate drone attacks

In Colombia, three soldiers were killed and several others injured during an attack on a military camp in northeastern Colombia. Authorities report that ELN (National Liberation Army) rebels used at least 20 explosive-laden drones in the strike, which occurred in the Ocanía region of Catatumbo near the Venezuelan border. President Amelardo de la Espriega has attributed responsibility to the ELN and announced large-scale operations against the group.

Separately, in the Black Sea, the Suezmax tanker ‘Siren’ was struck by drones during the night of September 3-4, 2026. The vessel, which is managed by Piraeus-based Eurotankers Inc., sustained damage to its accommodation block where the crew resides. The ship, flying a Liberian flag, was en route from Mumbai when the incident occurred. While the crew consists of Filipino sailors, no injuries or oil leaks have been confirmed. The vessel has previously been included in Ukrainian sanctions lists related to Russian energy exports.
