Following the magnitude 7.4 earthquake on August 10, the Colombian government has launched several recovery initiatives. The National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) has begun disbursing over $3,324 million in economic aid to affected families. This first round of subsidies targets 14 municipalities in the Chocó department, with payments ranging from approximately $787,907 to $1,050,543 depending on the municipality's category. Beneficiaries must be registered in the Unique Registry of Victims (RUD) and can claim funds through SuperGiros points by presenting an original ID.

President Abelardo De La Espriella has issued an ultimatum to local mayors, demanding detailed damage reports by September 17, noting that 204 municipalities have yet to submit required data. To support the agricultural sector, the government approved 15,000 million pesos to assist 5,000 coffee producers. Additionally, the Ministry of Environment has implemented the 'Ruta ABC' plan to support sustainable 'Green Businesses' impacted by the quake, with the CVC allocating $1,500 million for environmental project reconstruction in Valle del Cauca.

In Antioquia, officials are exploring the 'Works for Taxes' mechanism to leverage private sector investment for infrastructure reconstruction.
