Colombia announces major 2026 running events in Zipaquirá and Ibagué
The Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá opened registrations for the Trail Running de Colores 2026, a 6 km race scheduled for 18 October 2026. The underground course will take runners 180 metres below ground through the cathedral’s tunnels, with an expected field of about 5,000 participants and a registration fee of 75,000 COP. The event is organized by the cathedral’s manager Yenny Páez Sabogal and will include live music, a colour festival and a DJ.
In Ibagué, the Dulima Marathon 2026 took place, offering 42 km, 21 km, 10 km and 5 km distances. Hundreds of runners competed, and the Tolima boxing league attended, highlighted by Olympic medalist Ingrid Valencia. Local authorities noted the marathon’s positive impact on the city’s economy and its potential to become a key fixture on the national athletics calendar.
