Colombia appoints new police commanders in Córdoba and Chocó

The National Police of Colombia has announced new leadership appointments in the departments of Córdoba and Chocó.

In Córdoba, Colonel Darío Daniel Montenegro Ojeda has officially assumed command of the Córdoba Police Department during a ceremony in Montería. With 29 years of experience, Montenegro Ojeda aims to strengthen regional security by targeting criminal structures, drug trafficking, and extortion through intelligence-led operations and community participation. His administration will also focus on the welfare of police officers.

In Chocó, Lieutenant Colonel César Alberto Lemus Pinto serves as the acting commander. A veteran with over 26 years in the National Police, Lemus Pinto has held various operational and administrative roles across the country. His leadership focuses on fostering transparency, community trust, and coordinated efforts to improve security and progress within the Chocó department.
