Colombia authorities offer rewards for cases of child murder and kidnapping
Authorities in Colombia have announced significant rewards for information regarding two separate violent crimes. In the department of Antioquia, Governor Andrés Julián Rendón has offered up to 100 million pesos to help solve the femicide of 10-year-old Jhady Sofía Osorio Mesa. The child was sexually abused and strangled in Frontino on September 23. Forensic reports confirmed the abuse and strangulation, noting that the crime scene had been altered to simulate suicide.
In the Valle del Cauca department, Governor Dilian Francisca Toro has offered a reward of up to 30 million pesos for information leading to the location of Lizeth Alejandra Castaño Montes. The 19-year-old was kidnapped during the early morning hours in Guacarí while preparing to open her family's bakery. Security footage captured armed men entering the establishment and taking the young woman. Authorities are seeking details regarding the vehicle used in the abduction and the route taken by the kidnappers.
