Colombia boosts transit for 2026 World Cup matches and Medellín's Feria de las Flores

Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Bogotá’s district government will extend TransMilenio bus operating hours in key neighborhoods—including Fontanar, Tunal, Chapinero and the city’s international district—so fans can reach the free outdoor fanzones planned for the national team’s group‑stage matches on 17, 23 and 27 June. The initiative is part of the "Bogotá es Mundial 2026" strategy to support safe, mass attendance at the games.

In Medellín, officials are promoting the Silleteros Parade of the Feria de las Flores, scheduled for Sunday 9 August 2026, by highlighting the quickest Metro routes. The most used stations are Exposiciones, Industriales and Alpujarra, with recommendations to arrive two to three hours early, stay hydrated and check for road closures. Together, the measures aim to ease travel for thousands of local and international visitors attending both sporting and cultural events.
