Colombia confronts intimidation by Clan del Golfo and FARCs dissidents

In the run‑up to the 2026 presidential runoff, dissident factions of the FARCs in Nariño department forced residents of Los Andes to attend compulsory meetings, identified voters who supported Abelardo De La Espriella and threatened a 30‑million‑peso “revolution tax” on them. The intimidation, alongside demands to expel alleged drug dealers, highlights ongoing armed‑group control over rural voting processes.
