Colombia Contraloría reports lower development plan compliance for Petro administration
The Contraloría General de la República has revealed that the National Development Plan (PND) of Gustavo Petro's administration achieved a compliance rate of 72.5%. This figure is lower than the compliance rates of the previous two administrations: 82.5% during the second term of Juan Manuel Santos (2014-2018) and 82.21% during the term of Iván Duque (2018-2022).
According to data from the National Planning Department (DNP), of the evaluated goals, 33% were met, 44% remained unfulfilled, and 23% showed progress of less than 50%. The most significant delays were identified in agrarian reform, rural drinking water access, public health, youth initiatives, and crop substitution.
Regarding commitments to ethnic communities, the report noted that out of 269 evaluated commitments, 149 showed less than 50% progress, while 82 recorded no progress at all. Vice-Controller Francisco José Chaux highlighted difficulties in indicator verification and emphasized the need for verifiable evidence to maintain trust in development plans.
