Official reports confirm a death toll of 319 people, with 262 individuals still missing and 4,437 people receiving medical treatment for injuries. The disaster has severely impacted housing, healthcare facilities, schools, and essential public services.

The emergency decree grants the executive branch extraordinary powers to manage budgetary, contractual, and financial matters to expedite reconstruction. President De La Espriella announced plans to reallocate funds by reducing spending on non-priority programs from the previous administration to finance recovery efforts and stabilize the affected regions.
