Colombia delivers 100 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Cuba

A Colombian Navy vessel, ARC Caribe, docked in Havana carrying approximately 100 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, including non‑perishable food, medicines, hospital supplies, construction materials and solar panels. The shipment was dispatched from Cartagena to support communities in eastern Cuba affected by Hurricane Melissa. Cuban President Miguel Díaz‑Canel thanked Colombian President Gustavo Petro and the Colombian people, describing the assistance as vital amid the difficult conditions caused by the U.S. embargo. The operation was coordinated by several Colombian agencies, such as the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and the National Navy.

The aid follows earlier Colombian contributions and arrives alongside other international assistance that Cuba has received in recent months.
