Colombia delivers 100‑ton humanitarian aid shipment to Cuba

The Colombian naval vessel ARC Caribe left Cartagena at the start of June and arrived in Havana in mid‑June with almost 100 tons of humanitarian supplies. The cargo includes non‑perishable food, medicines, hospital supplies, electrical materials, household items and solar panels. The operation was coordinated by multiple Colombian agencies, including the Institute of Family Welfare, the ministries of Agriculture, Mines and Energy, the Tax and Customs Directorate, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, the Foreign Ministry and the Navy.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz‑Canel thanked President Gustavo Petro and the Colombian people, saying the aid helps alleviate shortages and power outages caused by the United States' renewed blockade of Cuba. The shipment follows earlier deliveries from Mexico, Belize, Uruguay and other regional partners, forming a broader assistance effort for Cuba’s energy and health crises.
