Colombia distributes technological equipment to educational institutions

Various educational institutions in Colombia are receiving significant technological upgrades to improve learning opportunities and bridge the digital divide.

In Pereira, the local government announced the delivery of 651 laptops, 102 smart TVs, two interactive screens, and specialized kits for science, robotics, and innovation. This initiative, coordinated through the Computadores para Educar program and the Tecnología para Aprender strategy, specifically aims to support schools affected by the earthquake on August 10. The Villa Santana Educational Institution is a primary beneficiary, receiving 80 laptops and a 3D printing kit to assist students currently studying in alternating shifts at the Kennedy institution.

In the municipality of Aipe, a project valued at approximately 798.5 million pesos is underway to deliver 495 computing devices. As part of this initiative, 20 laptops were provided to tenth-grade students at the Santa Rita Educational Institution in a rural area. The selection of beneficiary schools is based on territorial vulnerability and educational permanence, prioritizing regions with early warnings issued by the Defensoría del Pueblo regarding violence and other risks to student retention.
