Colombia earthquake: Argentine national missing after 7.4 magnitude tremor

A devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake has struck Colombia, causing significant casualties and infrastructure damage. Reports indicate at least 132 to 164 deaths and more than 570 injuries, with 61 buildings collapsed. The earthquake's epicenter was located in San José del Palmar, Chocó.

Amid the disaster, the family of Carlos Luis Cáceres, a 69-year-old Argentine national from San Juan, is desperately searching for him. Cáceres resides in Dosquebradas, near Pereira, one of the areas heavily impacted by the tremor. His family has lost all contact, a situation exacerbated by the total collapse of telecommunications in the Pereira region.

In response to the catastrophe, the Colombian government has declared a national emergency. Additionally, Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno has offered official assistance to Colombia to aid in recovery and relief efforts.
