Colombia earthquake causes multiple deaths in Cali

A powerful earthquake in Colombia has resulted in multiple fatalities following building collapses. In Cali, sports commentator Javier Fernández, known as ‘El Cantante del Gol’, confirmed the deaths of three family members: 10-year-old Martín Vivas Jiménez, 35-year-old Alejandra Vivas Jiménez, and 78-year-old Amparo Jiménez Barona. The victims were located among the rubble of the Ana Pilar building in the Cuarto de Legua neighborhood after being missing for several days.

Additionally, singer Manuel José reported the death of a prominent musician known as ‘Maestro Motato’. The musician reportedly died after being trapped in his apartment during the seismic event. Manuel José described the deceased as a virtuoso and a mentor who had supported his career since his first concert in Cali.
