Colombia earthquake survivor rescued after 38 hours trapped

A 32-year-old woman, Daniela Largo, survived being trapped under concrete for nearly 38 hours following a powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake in Colombia. The quake, described as one of the strongest the country has seen in decades, resulted in at least 250 deaths and numerous injuries.

Largo was buried when a four-story building in downtown Pereira collapsed. Rescuers discovered her almost by accident while searching for another individual. The extraction process took 10 hours, during which specialists and approximately 50 volunteers worked to free her after her arm became pinned by a metal door.

She was transported via ambulance to San Jorge Hospital. Her survival occurred on the same day as her son's 12th birthday, which the family had originally planned to celebrate in Manizales.
