Colombia earthquake: Woman rescued alive after 36 hours under rubble

A 32-year-old woman, Daniela Largopo, was rescued alive after spending 36 hours trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building in Pereira following a 7.4 magnitude earthquake in western Colombia. The rescue operation lasted 10 hours, and Largopo was hospitalized in critical condition after requiring resuscitation following cardiac arrest.

The earthquake has resulted in a death toll of 265 people, with 496 individuals still reported missing. In the Chocó department, rescuers recovered the bodies of a married couple found embracing, along with one of their daughters; a second daughter was rescued, while a third remains missing.

Rescue efforts in Cali have entered a final stage, supported by teams from Mexico. While the Chocó governor announced that search operations in her department have concluded to focus on aid, officials noted that the first 72 hours are the most critical for finding survivors.
