The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) reported significant institutional growth during a meeting with its University Board. Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado announced that the university's enrollment has surpassed 45,000 students, representing a 12.5% increase since 2024. The rector also highlighted that 100% of the university's evaluable educational programs have achieved national quality accreditation and noted a substantial rise in academic exchange mobility.
In Colombia, the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL) conducted its national and international admission exams. Approximately 39,397 applicants competed for 5,612 undergraduate spots for the first semester of 2027. The process included international participants from various countries, with high concentrations of applicants in Bogotá, Medellín, and Manizales.
Additionally, the Cundinamarca Más Profesional program in Colombia has added 1,500 new beneficiaries, bringing the total to 8,600 students supported across 116 municipalities. The program aims to reduce economic barriers to higher education through a 'graduate and don't pay' model.
