Colombia expands vaccination access in Montería and Cúcuta

Public health authorities in Colombia are expanding vaccination access through localized campaigns in Montería and Cúcuta.

In Montería, E. S. E. VidaSinú is organizing a vaccination day under the national strategy ‘Protegemos el presente, cuidamos el futuro: ¡Vacunatón escolar!’. The initiative targets children aged 0 to 5, children under 9 eligible for the dengue vaccine, and pregnant women requiring influenza shots. Vaccination points include various hospitals and urban/rural health centers, with a specific site at the Nuestro shopping mall.

In Cúcuta, the local government and ESE IMSALUD have established over 40 vaccination points as part of the Collective Intervention Plan (PIC). The campaign aims to ensure regular immunization schedules for newborns, children, adolescents, pregnant women, and the elderly. Key vaccines mentioned include BCG, hepatitis B, pentavalent, polio, rotavirus, pneumococcus, and the HPV vaccine for those aged 9 to 17. The dengue vaccination is specifically directed at children aged 9 or those in fourth grade, following current health guidelines.
