Colombia faces political disinformation and agricultural reform efforts

Discussions regarding the Colombian government have highlighted concerns over institutional risk and the impact of disinformation. Critics argue that the administration faces challenges in stabilizing public perception due to narratives that allegedly distort reality, particularly following a devastating earthquake on August 10. One specific instance involved claims that international aid was being rejected, a narrative that was reportedly refuted by a member of the Mexican rescue brigade, Los Topos.

In the economic and agricultural sectors, the Colombian Business Congress (CEC) organized by ANDI in Cartagena emphasized the need for collective action and resilience. The event focused on driving productivity, innovation, and sustainability within Colombian agriculture through the use of biotechnology and improved rural entrepreneurship. Additionally, the business community demonstrated solidarity by mobilizing over $201 billion pesos to support earthquake recovery efforts.
