Colombia football team gears up for World Cup 2026 with friendly against Jordan

Colombia's national team is set to play a friendly against Jordan on 6 August 2026 as part of its preparation for the 2026 World Cup. Analysts note Colombia's deeper talent pool – including Luis Díaz, James Rodríguez, Jhon Arias, Daniel Muñoz and Jefferson Lerma – and expect a victory, though they caution against assuming a high‑scoring match.

At the same time, Portugal is finalising its lineup for an upcoming friendly with Chile, which will serve as a rehearsal before Portugal faces Colombia in Group K of the tournament. Coach Roberto Martínez highlighted the importance of daily individual work, fitness monitoring and possible squad changes, noting that Matheus Nunes and João Félix remain doubtful due to health concerns.
