Colombia holds book fairs in Medellín and Valledupar in June 2026
Medellín will host the sixth edition of the Feria Cultura y Libros from 2 to 7 June 2026 at Parque Comercial El Tesoro. The free event focuses on popular festivals and national identity and includes a special tribute to folklorist and dancer Delia Zapata Olivella on the centenary of her birth. About 35 national guests – writers, journalists, musicians and filmmakers – and roughly 40 publishers will present new works across literature, poetry, children’s books and independent projects.
Meanwhile, Valledupar’s fourth Feria del Libro (Felva 2026) will conclude on the night of Sunday 7 June under the motto “Leer es Volar”. The programme features 100 invited writers and 73 events spread across the historic centre – plazas, cultural houses and auditoria – with talks, workshops, poetry recitals, musical performances and literary markets. Organisers aim to strengthen reading habits and position Valledupar as a cultural reference for the Caribbean region of Colombia.
