Colombia hosts major 2026 cultural festivals in Medellín and Cali

Medellín is gearing up for the Feria de las Flores, scheduled from July 31 to August 9, 2026. The city‑wide celebration will feature traditional parades and regional performances. Travel guides recommend staying in neighborhoods such as El Poblado, Laureles or the nearby town of Envigado, with hostel rates starting around 20,000 COP and hotel prices ranging from 80,000 to over 150,000 COP per night.

Cali has launched its International Theatre Festival, kicking off with a gala at the Teatro Municipal Enrique Buenaventura and running through June 14, 2026. The program includes 87 performances by local, national and international companies, with 25 productions from Cali, 10 from elsewhere in Colombia and four from abroad. The festival emphasizes decentralisation, staging shows in various comunas and corregimientos to reach broader audiences, and incorporates workshops, talks and cultural activities throughout the city.
